I don't mean to evesdrop...
Mar. 15th, 2009 02:46 pmI don't like crowds.
It's impossible for me to focus in a crowd. There's too much energy, too many people. Too many snippets of conversations that make no sense, but I can't ignore.
Sometimes, though, the noise, all the words blend together into a hum. I like that. I can deal with the hum. It's generic, elemental - no individual facet or words. It's just noise, like the gulls on the shore or the wind roaring through the trees. There's nothing to catch the attention of my fickle mind - just a gestalt mass of sound.
That I can deal with. That, I can block out and focus on what I want to, without my mind latching onto cut-out pieces of other people's lives.
Still, I don't like crowds. I hear too much.

I just got back from watching it.
It is epic.
And I'm pretty sure my head is imploding.
Sex scenes were a bit much, I think - I was thinking at the time, "Was that really necessary?" But besides that, it's awesome.
I haven't read the book yet (I'm certainly going to now...) so I don't know how they compare. But I'm already in love. There is one fantasy more gripping than any other: Reality.
Also: My favorite character died. I really should not be as surprised at this as I am.

The most noteable thing from today
Mar. 7th, 2009 08:45 pm...
...they made a DS port for Chrono Trigger?
That was released LAST YEAR?
HOW did I not know about this? I'm ashamed of myself now....
*rushes out and buys instead of going to see Watchmen*
*starts playing obsessively* Oh, Magus is the Fiendlord now? That works, I suppose...what? Did they take out Frog's accent? Those bastards... they better have not messed up the plot any...
Wonder if it's got all the endings...I hope so...
The rest of the week is going to be a bit distracted.

Brief musing on snow
Jan. 28th, 2009 11:42 amOne of the great differences between adults and children is this: when an adult looks at snow, they think, "Oh great, I can't go anywhere", while a child thinks, "Must play!"
And then there are teenagers who, depending on the region, think, "Sweet! No school!"
(Sorry, I'm stuck in that great big ICE STORM OF DOOM that hit the middle of the US. Three inches of snow, half inch of ice, and then another three inches of snow. Dangerous, but pretty. And I just got in from rolling around in the backyard and chasing my dogs. Yay.)
