I got Spark's Exotic Creatures of the Deep in the mail yesterday. I will echo Arch with: It. Is. Awesome.

However, it's like psychological alcohol and I had to spend half of last night detoxing. Of course, like a good little addict I'm listening to it now. Even though "Strange Animal" messes with my head BAD.  (It's amazing. It's also metacrack in the weirdest way I've ever seen.) Besides, the rest of the album is awesome. *dances like a dork to "Lighten up Morrissey"*

Spent the last two or so weeks working on gift fics for people. I hope they turned out well. *was not so sure on the birthday one*  I now need to work on Sins...even though I still want to stab Gluttony. *sigh* May post the draft, just to get it out and see what people think. I'm also slighting working on Twist. It's...daunting. *eeps*

Read a DN fic that, while having rather immature and young writing, had a premise that was so farking brilliant that I had to stop myself from trying it myself. (Any of you other writers get that? Someone tells you something they're trying and it's so amazing that your fingers itch with want to write it?) Left an epic review, and am going to follow this one. *nods* Is very interesting.


Yeah.  I'm still alive, basically.

Speaking as one of the people who was on the recieving end (why does that sound like a bad pun?) I loved my gift fic! I was touched you thought of doing it in the first place, and then the story was so wonderful -- I have a major league soft spot for younger!Seto and Mokuba, and I could just see them so vividly in your story.

I know that feeling, where someone has a cool idea but their writing isn't spectacular. >_> Oh well, still, the ideas keep you hooked most of the time and that's enough to keep going.

*nods* It's such a brilliant idea, too... The basic gist is - Rem was told to take the Note to someone with ambition, right? In the canon she took it to Higuchi. Do you know who else in the canon has entirely too much ambition?
