What's the last thing you wrote?
Complete or just in in general? Hmm...Complete would probably be one of the Seven Sins ficlets for DN, or, if it counts, a scene for my Will Not Be Explained DN fic. Just in general would be the start of a scene for a original thing that I wrote earlier today.

Was it any good?
The DN things were, I think. I need to type them. The original scene..eh, not so much. It's involves four people, and I'm only really sure of two of them.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
Probably some poetry that was based on FF7. I wrote some stuff before that, but I have no idea where any of it is.

Write poetry?
Yep. Mostly back when I was young, stupid, and angsty, but I still do occasionally.

Angsty poetry?
Loads.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
Hmmm.... I don't know. I'm having fun with Richard, and Mitch, but Rohain is fun too. So far, probably Richard. Starts out mousy wallflower guy that most people don't don't know exist, and then gets Turned into a vampire and promptly goes all Kira!face megalomaniac crazy.

I'm having fun with him, anyway.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?
Most annoying to read, or most annoying to write? *wink* I don't know. Possibly Elvira, or Rohain (as much as I hate to admit it....) But I'm just generally annoyed at the story they're from, anyway, so who knows.

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
Eh, I don't know about yet... I've got some interesting ones planned for the Death Note Fic That Shall Not Be Explained. 'least, I hope they're cool twists. We'll see.

How often do you get writer's block?
It varies. Sometimes once a day, sometimes once a month, sometimes whenever in between.

How do you fix it?
Also varies. Taking a break for a few minutes, stopping for the day, changing my location or notebook help. Or switching stories. (Sometimes a story just doesn't want to be written, you know? And others just do.)

Do you type or write by hand?
Both. At school or when I'm out, I don't have a laptop so I write things out by hand. When I'm at home, I'll type or sometimes still write them out by hand. It's one of the ways I'm odd - sometimes my brain just doesn't want to put things on paper, and sometimes it just doesn't want to put things on a screen. It varies, and I've gotten used to it.  Final versions are always typed, though - for sake of my illegible handwriting, if nothing else.

Do you save everything you write?

For a while, 'cause I'm a sentimental idiot like that. Then I'll root though and throw stuff out.

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Sometimes - I hope I do it more, 'cause I like some of those not-working ideas. (See afore mentioned stupid sentimentality)

What's your favorite thing that you've written?
It's kinda hard to pick. Usually it's whatever I just finished. Right now it's probably the That Which Shall Not Be Explained dn fic, though. Because I like me some plot twists.

What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
I haven't asked, and they haven't told me.

Do you ever show people your work?
Yep. To whom depends on what though - fanfiction is open to all, original is kept to a select few.

Who's your favorite constructive critic?
Either[profile] saint_archie
or[profile] los_christabel my two dearest friends on the 'net. Mostly because of the help they give with my stories. (Btw, Arch, we still need to figure out some for TWSBE fic)

Did you ever write a novel?
Did? No. Am trying and rather failing at? Yes.

Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
Yes, kinda, and yes. I say kinda to sci-fi because for me and the way I work, the line between sci-fi and fantasy is thin. I haven't had any time travel, robots, or space travel, but I've had psychic abilities and such, so it's kinda for now.

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Sort of and no. Sort of because I have written pairing fic, but besides that i haven't. I'm about as unromantic as they come.

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
Chick-lit or anything like them. My brain doesn't go that direction.

How many writing projects are you working on right now?
Don't make me think about it, please. I can handle the number because I'm ignoring how many of them there are.

Do you want to write for a living?
Hell yes. Unfortunately for that dream, I'm a practical little bugger and know how hard it is to support oneself on writing. So I'm going to do that, and something else.

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
Does my school yearbook count? In that case, yes.

Have you ever won an award for your writing?
Got second place for my writing in a school competition when I was in eighth grade.

Ever written something in script or play format?
Once, when I was really little. My mother adored it - I don't actually remember it.

What is your favorite word?
Either Irony or Drama. *is a drama junkie*

Do you ever write based on yourself?
Yes. But I'm somewhat aware of my own faults, so it generally works out. (Though that's not counting the running SI fanfic that's been in my head for years and will never, ever be written down)

Which of your characters most resembles you?
Well, there's an element of myself in all my characters- but I believe that there is an element of everyone in everyone else, so that may not mean much.  Probably either Isaiah or Rebecca - which is amusing to me because they're polar opposites of each other.

Where do you get ideas for your characters?
Generally they just show up in my head, mostly formed. Occasionally I'll try making one, but they don't always work. (And there's one where I read a book, decided that a character would have been really freaking awesome if the author wasn't an idiot, and adopted him. But I'm tweaking him and making him my own.)

Do you ever write based on your dreams?
Once. There's one dream I had a while back that I sill think would make an awesome t.v. show. But usually my dreams are too crackish to make sense of.

Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
Depends on the story. I like writing sad endings and cliff-hangers, but reading them..it depends. There are sad endings, and sad endings without closure. That's an important difference for me.

Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
I don't think so. Maybe.

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
Kind of. If it gets in the way of understanding I'll fix it then, if not then I'll just go on. Spellcheckers were invented for a reason. (Besides, I use weird grammar intentionally sometimes. I think in run-on sentences, of course I'll write in them)

Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
No, actually.

Does music help you write?
Usually. A lot of music is like white-noise for me - it just blends into the background and covers up whatever would distract me. Plus I mentally multi-task constantly - it's the only way I can focus.

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
I don't know. Once again, I haven't asked. I don't think so, though

Quote something you've written.
Hmm....*goes of to pick something* Ah. End of Justice.
(Spoilers for Justice.)

("Funny how these things turn out, isn't it Lawliet?"

He doesn't know if the mike's still on, he doesn't care, he's dying and it never mattered.

"It never mattered after all..."

And then he sees pale lips and dark eyes smile, and he smiles back - no words are needed, they never were and he was really the only person who understood anything in the end - and blood keeps flowing and he can't hear the crowd, can't hear them shouting, can't hear a thing over the clink of handcuffs and his own slowing pulse.

Light Yagami - the perfect, the special, the amazing, the God - dies.)

I just rather like that ending.  The phrasing is cool, imo.

Memery is finished. Now to watch movies with my friend.
