I donated blood today!

The process was a little nerve wracking. First they had to stick me to check my iron levels, and then this long questionnaire to make sure I wasn't at risk for blood born diseases. Passed both. I was vaguely terrified, because I dislike needles, especially ones that don't immediately leave, but apparently I did very well.

Still a little wuzzy, though. And dear god in heaven they use a huge needle.

I'm o+, so I'm one of the better possible donors. I'm also the only person in my immediate family who can donate blood, due to the rest having lived in England during the 80's and thus being officially at risk for Mad Cow.

I figure donating is the decent thing to do. So, yeah, go donate blood y'all.

That's great that you gave blood. I agree - it's something relatively easy to do that really does save lives. It always leaves me a little fuzzy too; I always hope for good cookies afterwards.

I'm feeling better now, but I've been out of it all afternoon. And my blood, due to my typing, is more useful than it might have been otherwise. So yay.
