...christ today was an Adventure!

Okay. My mother has had two knee replacements, so both of her knees are steel. The second one was done last April and is still healing. This is necessary context.

Today we went shopping after church, and as we were leaving the store she tripped and landed solidly on that healing knee. The skin split and tore, and it bled.

It bled a LOT.

Someone was there and stayed with my mom to make sure she was okay (mom thankfully had a paper towel in her pocket and put pressure on the wound) while I fetched the car and tried not to freak the fuck out. (Scott, who works at Walmart - god fucking bless you.) I drove her to the E.R. and she got taken care of, (bleeding all over the entry way for a bit) and she got things stitched up. She's fine, just sore and her pride's a bit stung, and she managed to lose a decent amount of blood.

But sweet chest hair of Zeus that was terrifying. More for me than her, but fucking hell. Two hours in the e.r. and my nerves are shot.

So. Yeah. That was today.

I don't blame you for being shook up -- that must have been scary, especially as your mom is still recuperating. I hope she's feeling better.
