Light is totally a mob boss. Misa is the lovely woman in the flapper dress. And Mikami is the guy with the tommy gun. 

And someone needs to draw L in a fedora.

I do have an idea to that end. It's Edmondia's fault, actually. It amuses me because Misa is the only person who actually knows wtf is going on. (Can *you* see either Light or L reading Lewis Carroll? Really?) And she would look good dressed up as the Queen of Hearts.

Haha! That's awesome. Seriously, L in a fedora MUST happen. Though I see Light as a police officer, who goes undercover and narks various smugglings. But in the process, plays the part of the bad guy... a little too well... all in the name of justice. ;) Still gets the snazzy suit, right?

*nod* L in a rumpled pin-striped suit, scuffed shoes and a slightly bent fedora, slinking into the police force and offering to help with this unbeatable case.

Yeah, I'm not sure how to translate Kira into the gangster universe. Maybe he's a cop who's running an assassination mob on the side... But Light being an undercover cop would work too. Both, perhaps. And yes, this will not happen without the snazzy suits. And the awesome hats.
