...just downloaded an extension that allows me to block myself from accessing tumblr after a set period of time. because while i love the people there i absolutely do not have the spoons for the website as a whole some times.

Hahaha yeah the site can be a bit much, the atmosphere is quite different compared to four years ago, especially with regards to fandom. There are nonfandom things too that I can't keep up with but. Kind of out of my lane so.

Yeah, it's. People are angry and they feel that their anger is justified, and so they're not willing to let it go. and the anger just.... spools out of control. It's becoming the norm rather than the fringe. It's combative.

(I feel like, on a macro level, it's probably some response to the growing uncertaitny of the world - terrorism and the economy and everything. Plus a growing awareness of social issues that provides people with a target. Also, more moderate people are slowly being edged out.)

With any luck, this is a phase. Fandom will, eventually, calm the hell down. If we're lucky. Until then, keep ourselves safe.
