Day two of class!

As yesterday, drafted as I was in the classes in question.
Waiting in the classroom for Classical Sociological Theory. Taugh tby the same epic teacher of Gender and Societ, so this should be good. I'm just ipodless because I didn't have time to charge it, which means I am hearing bits of other people's conversations and twitching. It's probably for the better - should acclimate myself to other people again - but that doesn't mean I like it.
I'm expecting this to be an easy course, really - I've been exposed to most of the theories before, so. Good old Durkheim, we'll never get rid of you will we?
Hurm. I forgot all of my bookmarks. Might have to replace those, sometime... or just use... except I forgot post-it notes. I still have my murder scene one, so I might use those. I'll get funny looks. Oh well.
Teacher is not here yet. Getting book out now - ah, there he is! Dude, leather backpack. Still hilarious, still walking around like a puppet on strings. Thin and tall with curly hair. Kind of cute.
We start with history. Woot. Soc is a new thing, we have to look at why it exists. Marx, Durkheim, and Weber. Bit of Mead, if we have time. I like Mead, myself...
A few familiar faces, no one I really know. Not sure how much my random interjections would be tolerated - I talk in class, comment on things the prof has said. But some teachers tolerate that more than others.
A lot of this I heard yesterday, but oh well. Standard syllabus talk. Teacher seems like a nice guy, really. Funny and smart. Onto history! *switches notebooks for a moment*
Ooo, history of Europe. And the teacher puts up with my comments - and he's a scifi buff. Woo.
Now, 15 break. I need soda, I think. It has been acquired! Waiting in the class for the soviet Union now. A few people i know, even if I don't recall where I know some of them. From the conversations some of them are education majors, aside from the history - oh wait, that's where I know that guy, he was in Brit Lit! Gah, ears hurt, want headphones...
Not sure about the prof... he just walked in - OH CHRIST MICHAEL'S IN HERE. Damn it. Anyway. Prof seems... decent. A bit hesitant, a bit reedy. If he knows the material it'll be fine....
He's a little uncertain, but perhaps that'll fade. Points out that the Cold War had really skewed Russian study, which is a very good point. It's still a bit that way, really.
Ooo, Russian novels. Woot. Teacher is much better now that he's in his groove. Now, Syllabus talk. We'll be spending some time looking at Marxism because ideals are very important in the USSR.
This class will be awesome. I'm flailing a bit, but I'll be fine. I haven't done as much study into Russia as I have other areas, which is why I'm here. I'm not in the center of the front row, like I prefer, but I'm close.
Enough of this, onto notes!
So today was pretty good. Start work tomorrow, *crosses fingers* wish me luck!
