Bleary Drug induced hazes are FUN~!
Jul. 21st, 2009 07:59 amI got my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday.
I couldn't eat or drink for eight hours before hand...and my surgery was a 9:15 a.m. And I have a strong tendency towards dehydration as it is. Eight hours without food would be easy - eight hours without water and I was miserable. Plus I normally wake up at about nine a.m. Bleh. Played Chrono Trigger in the waiting room, though, so yay. I've only got two endings left.
Then...the actual surgery. *shudders* Ick. They put me on Nitrous. It didn't do a damned thing. No, really. I was breathing that thing for at least five minutes and I was still so nervous I was sobbing when they put the I.V. in. And god, the IV. They started looking for veins in my right elbow. They ended up on the back of my left hand. It hurt and I jerked and I was terrified because I have a phobia if injections. Not needles, but injections, and the idea of an I.V. is especially horrifying.
I've never had surgery before. I don't want to repeat it any time soon.
Then I woke up and sort of stumbled/was carried out to the car. I don't actually remember anything until waking up a few hours later in a chair at home, sick and unable to keep much but water down. Plus I was still bleeding from the inscisons, so I had gauze on them...which absorbed blood and then when I bit down on them - which I did a lot, seeing as I clench my jaw just in general - the blood would seep out again. Do you know what happens when you swallow a lot of blood, kiddies? Nausea. At the most pleasant.
It was a fun afternoon.
Plus I was all screwed up because of the drugs. I'm strange as it is...me under the influence of drugs is, how shall I say it? Fucking weird. I hope I didn't scare anyone I messaged yesterday... and my sentence structure and spelling were stranger than usual. This is impressive.
Took a lowertab before I went to bed...which did almost nothing. Knocked me out, and killed a headache. Barely did anything to my jaw, which is the actual thing that hurts. Bleh. Me and pain killers. *shakes head* Good thing I have a high pain tolerance to balance out the lack of effect painkillers have.
Ah, fun times. Thankfully the zombieness has mostly faded.
