There goes that friendship.

Okay.

Context. Friend (K) and I were chatting with someone we both knew (Ch). Rain was impending. Another mutual friend (K2, who is Muslim) had borrowed K's umbrella, and we joked about having to beat him to get him to return it.

Ch made some crack about how it's not murder if they're Muslim, and then defended this statement by saying that if we had been to a Muslim country we would agree.

I walked away, and flipped the bird as I left.

I plan on never talking to him again.

No shit. The US is considered a Christian country, but it's way different type of Christianity than you'd get from Spain (where the five century ban on other forms of worship was lifted only in the past decade) or Ireland (where religion dictate much of the law to this day).

Places like Tunisia and Libya (recent events aside) are considered rather progressive, and they (LE GASP) Muslim countries.

Grr. Stupid people. D:

Yes, exactly. OMG, COUNTRIES ARE DIFFERENT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE SAME RELIGION. LE GASP. MY MIND IS BROKEN.

*grrr*
