LOVE FF4, it's tied as my favorite early FF game. (I put FF into two halves; the first half is 1-6 (i.e the 8-bit and 16-bit games) and 7-on.

Cecil is my favorite FF4 character, but Kain is a close second. Nice pairing is nice *_*
