I like my RA, I think

Okay. I am on the honors floor of my dorm. The RA is kind of awesome. For example?

Everyone has name tags on their front doors, as a way of getting to know each other and so the RA could keep us straight. Originally these were race cars. However, today the RA changed this.

She printed out pictures of various Pokemon and everyone's name in the classic Poke-font. And they are now stuck on everyone's door, and everyone has their own Pokemon.

I'm a Lapras, apparently.

All of my RA's were goody two shoes assholes. One of them had a giant Jesus blanket, which isn't a problem in and of itself, but she was very intolerant of any sort of fun. She attempted to publicly shame my roommate who got carted off to the hospital in a cop car because she was really, really drunk and of course wasn't the legal drinking age. The story itself is funny as hell, btw. They had to strap her to the gurney apparently because she kept trying to put on her boots and leave.

The RA bitched her out in the hallway where anyone could hear, which was completely unnecessary and I really don't see how it was any of the RA's business in the first place.

My friend has some fantastic stories that are prime examples of what NOT to do when you drink. She once got a ride home in the back of a paddy wagon (cop van) because she tried to pick a fight with her date at a gas station. She didn't get arrested, they just took her home and let her pass out. I LOL'd at her.

Well, I suppose it was her job to keep you all from dying - which in that case sounds like a very real possibility. Publicly shaming her was not appropriate. But doing something about it, yes.

Yeah but she definitely should have spoken to her in private. Anyway, my friend didn't have alcohol poisoning or anything and wasn't any more drunk than normal or even the worst offender in our wing. She just happened to fall on her ass where a cop could see her. >.<

I'm surprised my friend and I made it out of college at all, tbh. We did some DUMB shit the first two years of college but I can honestly say that freshman year is seriously one of the most fun years of my entire life.

True, I probably spent most of the time on the wrong side of the law or very nearly so but omg it was fun (I've got many crazy stories). And then I realized that I had to, you know, actually DO WORK and behave if I wanted to graduate with a good GPA so then I buckled down halfway through my sophmore year and became a good, model student.

So my freshman year was a blast but I wouldn't recommend that anyone spend their freshman year the way I spent mine. You'll be playing catch up for the next three years if you do and that kind of sucks. However, I'm pleased that I managed to go from a C student to an A student by my senior year.
