Hi!

I don't think that Kaiba will like Dumbledore much, really. Kaiba understands hidden agendas, but he will not be used in the service of one. (At least, not without his express permission.) And Dumbledore has a bad habit of assuming that he's wiser than everyone around him and he knows best. Between him and Kaiba...things will get interesting. (Come to think of it, Snape's strident obediance of Dumbledore might end up being a straining point between Kaiba and Snape.) Right now, Kaiba is just reading his first impressions of them - later, when he realizes exactly how much he and Snape are alike he'll either be interested or horrified. I'm not sure which. (Frankly, in my head, they tend to waver between getting along wonderfully and actively trying to kill each other, with lots of what passes in their universe for friendly bickering in between.) Kaiba is very perceptive, and especially in business. He's had too much training and too many people trying to kill him for him not to be.

*grin* Yes, I'm fond of those lines as well. I tried to keep it to the grumbly amusement of the introduction. I'm not sure how much I succeeded, but it's still amusing to me. I don't normally get Kaiba right...this is fun.

...hmm. You've got a point. I imagined it as sarcastic, but it would work just as well with out the 'sir', rephrasing it as simply, "Do not waste my time." I'll have to consider that...

Yeah...I haven't quite figured that part out yet. We tossed around a few theories, and the one with Mokuba would work the best, but I haven't worked it into the prose yet. One of the reasons I've always thought that Kaiba will like Snape is that Snape is efficient. He's no nonsense, and Kaiba can appriciate that. Simple practicality is something that is sorely missing from the Wizarding World, and Snape is one of the few wizards that has a mostly level head on his shoulders. (Minivera is another, and I can see Kaiba having a decent amount of respect for her as well. And Moody.) And I was kind of thinking that Kaiba's thought process would be, "Okay, they're idiots and possibly insane, but at least he's getting to the point so I can get this over with." Most people (like Dumbledore) would take their time explaining, seriously trying Kaiba's patience in the process. Snape doesn't do that, and it's a welcome change.

All that being said, you can't tell me that Kaiba and Charlie wouldn't get along, even if Kaiba loaths the rest of the Weasley family. I may or may not shove them into each other too.

Seeya! I work all weekend (bleh) but we can toss messages at each other.
