Hi! I love the beginning, with Dumbledore and Snape seen through Kaiba's one special lens. I like the way he catches the mixture of kindness and hidden agendas that are part of Dumbledore's make-up and then interprets it in his own terms. And I liked the way Kaiba right off the bat recognizes the things in snape that resonate with him as well -- the need to wear a mask until it almost seems natural, and that both have deaths on their hands. It both underscores Kaiba's acuteness of perception while filtering it through his own personaltake on things, and I really like how ingrained his wariness is in even trivial encounters.

And a lot of his internal comments -- like about Snape's hair or not liking to bow just made me luagh because I could hear Kaiba saying it.

One minor question/quibble is that I have a hard time seeing Kaiba addressing Dumbledore with "Sir" especially if Dumbledore's just asked if he believes in magic. I wasn't sure if it was meant sarcastically, but otherwise, although it might be common business usage (I'm not sure on this point) it seems too polite for Kaiba and almsot to much of a concession of power, especially since Dumbledore was the one requesting the meeting.

As we talked about the other day -- I agree with your concern about Kaiba's readiness to listen to Dumbledore and Snape. It's funny because I think every thing Kaiba says sounds like him, but I agree, I think it's better if there is an underlying reason why he's listening to them in the first place. I did like Sanpes explanation of what they wantfrom Kaiba -- it covered a lot of necessary information quickly, and it was interesting because it was in character for Sanpe and I liked Kaiba's thoughts that even if what he was saying was insane, at least he was saying it concisely.

Talk to you later!
