Today in fics I'll never write

Sometimes,

ktula and I are bored at our respective workplaces and we talk stories and come up with ideas. Some of these ideas either get turned into fic (such as the vampire au) or we want to do so (one day, burning man.) But some of them are in the range of "Well, it's cool as hell, but."

But I still keep the transcripts, because they're awesome and fun to reread. And I decided to post them here, because they're not quite real fics, but they are cool as hell.

Today's entry is a Rey Solo/Darkside Rey au

Huh.

I keep meaning to find more but I don't wanna have to *handwave* go through all the "the resistance is evil and the order is great" fics

I just want Rey to fill the Ren role.

Snoke trying to play them against each other. Kylo isn't irreplaceable anymore

Kylo ending up in a relationship with Hux because he gets driven in that direction due to animosity between him and Rey.

Hux showing up at the officers lounge late at night going "who the fuck is this guy oh wait that's Ren's mask"

.... Hux being like "Supreme Leader, I can't work with Kylo Ren" and Snoke being like "no problem, here is my new and better apprentice"

Rey and Kylo being bitter rivals but - /but\-

Hux and Rey get along /fantastically/ but, fuck, Hux almost feels kinda bad about it because Kylo's not adjusting very well.

Also hux and Rey being engineering nerds together is a thing in the squad btw

I want that.

Rey and Kylo bonding over a shared nonsexual appreciation of Hux.

(Kylo immediately fucking that up by falling for Hux.)

I really just want Rey and kylo love each other as siblings even through snoke pitting them against each other. Can you imagine the angst

Kylo continuously flopping in Rey's quarters. "did you see Hux's hair today," he whispers. She punches him on the shoulder with the force.

Omg, Rey and Kylo eventually faking arguments in front of Snoke.

... Hux not knowing what sibling relationships are or how they work.

Hux has no idea what to do with this seriously

Rey just keeps running into one particular stormtrooper and - doesn't want to strangle him????

Kylo getting wound up by Snoke and snapping at Rey, Rey yelling back, Kylo realizing four hours later that he fucking fell for Snoke's bullshit again.

Rey threatening to stab hux if kylo gets hurt. Hux just raises his eyebrows at her, and Rey figures out what kylo sees in him.

OMG REYFINN

... Finn actually getting the office commission he was on track for.

Rey: fine, I'll allow it. Kylo: what? Rey: Hux. I'll allow it.

Tbh in my head it went: "Stop threatening my stormtrooper." "Then stop threatening my general."

... They get a defector from the Resistance. He's an amazing pilot. Hux is thrilled, because the pilot's parents were both key members of the other side, and Dameron deflecting means that the First Order is the True Just Cause.

Yessssss, I love that.

After a couple months, Dameron and Rey and Finn all show up in Hux and Ren's quarters. (Hux would note that they're his quarters, it's just that Kylo happens to be there a lot.)

"So, uh, I really like you all," Dameron says. "But I'm actually a spy."

"We're deflecting," Rey says bluntly.

I was briefly worried about poe there

He's real good at showboating with his TIE. But his kill ratio is oddly terrible.

Darkside Rey is one thing. Darkside poe or Finn is depressing

Darkside Finn or Poe hurt my feelings nine times out of ten.

Kylo goes very still. He'd looked the other way in exchange for Rey looking the other way with hux

But he hadn't expected -

(Kylo still thinks that snoke saved them)

(Rey has always burned colder than he did, and that's why she has to do this, for both of them)

The resulting argument between Kylo and Hux is enormous.

Kylo is "going, because she's my family, I'm not being separated from my family again, it was horrible enough the first time"

Hux is "staying because this is my entire life, and how could you ask me to give this up"

.... I don't know what ends up happening.

Suffering?

Yes.

Also my image was "kylo. We can take him out."

"You know we're strong enough. We can do it together."

Thaaaaat gets hux's attention

(Poe kinda boggles at it tbh)

(Not really what he was expecting but he'll take it)

Everybody uniting against Snoke is fantastic.

Phasma insists on being involved.

She was just keeping her mouth shut prior to this, withing who was going to be on the winning side and who on the losing side.

*waiting to see who was

But if they're taking out Snoke?

Yes, please.

.... Oh no.

What if the plan is a faked defection, where Kylo, Finn, and Phasma defect (subtext being a destabikizstion of the storm troopers and they need a trained force user on the Resistance side) and Rey, Poe, and Hux stay, with the intention of them hitting snike from both sides.

(my typing today is so tragic)

Poe and Kylo stage a shootout in the two fastest ships, because they're the best pilots and they can make it look good.

And it'd look too suspicious for Poe to "defect" and then come back.

Hux missing kylo

Hux thinking he's going to be fine until Kylo is gone and then suddenly being massively depressed for no reason that he can figure out.

"....it's okay, general. I miss him too."
