Feminist book recs: (Though I can't know which of these you might have read.)

At the Dark End of the Street: Black Women, Rape, and Resistance--A New History of the Civil Rights Movement from Rosa Parks to the Rise of Black Power, by Danielle L. McGuire. Pretty much what it says on the tin. Also gives full credit to Rosa Parks for her years of activism beyond that one moment on a bus.

Killing the Black Body: Race, Reproduction, and the Meaning of Liberty, by Dorothy Roberts. Absolutely required reading.

Women, Race, and Class, by Angela Davis. This is a classic that you may have already read, but if you haven't, now is the time.

This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color, edited by CherrĂe L. Moraga and Gloria E. AnzaldĂșa. Another classic, and another one you may know already, but, again, invaluable.

Dragon Ladies: Asian American Feminists Breathe Fire, edited by Sonia Shah. This is sadly out of print, but well worth it if you can track it down.

Colonize This!: Young Women of Color on Today's Feminism, edited by Daisy Hernandez. This one is so good. Has a great variety of viewpoints.

Whipping Girl: A Transsexual Woman on Sexism and the Scapegoating of Femininity, by Julia Serano. One of the best places to start unpacking transphobia, but also of great value to the experienced reader.
